Lincoln Ridge is the home of the Lincoln Candle Company where they use proprietary blends of natural soy wax and scents for their unique high-fragranced candles. They also hold a Fall Mum and Pumpkin Festival every weekend in October, featuring a corn maze, hay wagon rides to the pumpkin patch for picking your own, and thousands of full mums, wreaths, and decorations. A great new addition to downtown Van Wert is the Van Wert Arts Factory, housed in the offices of Main Street Van Wert, Inc. and the Van Wert Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. Van Wert Street Artists specialize in unique metal art and painting for the home and garden. Rob Adams, the lead artist, uses a plasma cutter and welder to make one-of-a-kind sculptures and wall hangings. He has also expanded his talents to painting with acrylics, specializing in the use of texture. Rob has shared his metal working skills by teaching his family. They too have enjoyed the artistic endeavor. Beth Adams, a psychologist, uses her art training during therapy and enjoys designing and creating steel and copper pieces. Window Creations is owned and operated by Reggie and Penny Buehrer and presently specialize in stained glass repair and restoration for churches. The majority of churches in our area are 80-100 years old and need stained glass restoration before excessive damage is incurred. Weakened or broken lead cames often cause buckling and glass breakage. Window Creations also design custom windows of all sizes in contemporary, traditional and abstract styles. An historic downtown department store is the setting for Years Ago Antique Mall. This businesses houses 50 vendors displaying and offering for sale a general line of antiques and collectibles. Your Country Connection Shoppe
A new addition to the Van Wert shopping scene, Your Country Connection Shoppe offers lots of country-themed items – wreaths, candles home décor and seasonal items – as well as custom handmade cedar chests and a few antiques. The shop is located at 325 E. Main Street, across from the Post Office. Hours for the store are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays and, at least through the holidays, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday.
